Reaching the scale of the street and the landscape, "Day by Day" by Jacob Hashimoto intersperses a series of brightly colored prisms within a diaphanous cloud of kites. Drawing from the rich history offered through the Textile and Costumes Collection from the Thomas Jefferson University archives, Hashimoto focused on textile point papers as the graphic source for the kaleidoscopic volumes, imbuing state-of-the-art Honickman Center with a visual connection to its historical lineage. The artwork fills the entire street side volume, down to the floor and near the glass, making it our most public and most intimate piece at the same time
